At Errigal we care about and are committed to the wellbeing, health and safety of our people both at head office and across all of our sites. We promote a family approach and constantly look out for each other to ensure we can enjoy a safe and happy environment. We realise that a healthy body is a healthy mind and encourage our people to embrace this through nature walks and a fully equipped gym at our head office, taking part in sporting activities in the local community as well as park walks near our sites.

We are highly committed to a goal of Zero Harm and achieve this by identifying the hazards and risks involved in our activities, by eliminating these risks wherever possible and by establishing robust arrangements for the management of any remaining risks.

We strive to continually improve our health and safety performance and we conscientiously seek to eliminate all incidents from our business.  As well as continual improvement, we set practical and realistic health and safety objectives and compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation is at the very minimum of our policy.

The controls for the management of Health and Safety are contained within the Errigal Business Management System with a focus on continual improvement. We believe Health and Safety controls rely upon the competence, cooperation and commitment of all employees and invest significantly in developing and sustaining a positive health and safety culture which demonstrates exemplary and inspirational leadership and commitment.

Our Safety Management System (SMS) is tailored to meet the requirements of both the main contractor and our own Errigal workforce. The SMS is externally audited and accredited by CHAS/ Safe-T and Achilles (ref no. 301173).

Errigal site managers are trained to Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) level and NVQ Level 3 Occupational Health and Safety as a minimum requirement. This has resulted in an excellent safety record for Errigal
